I was praying for a church community before I really knew what that meant. I was seeking a way to learn more about Jesus and what it meant to hold faith, and finding a LOCAL was just that. From studying scripture to serving our community to just hanging out, LOCALs are life-changing and faith-affirming.

Prayer Morning has been a staple in my week for years now, and I can honestly say that some of my loveliest moments with Jesus have occurred during that time. It’s a time to quiet your soul before God, and lift up your own needs + the needs of our church before the most Holy One. It’s a time to intimately worship in your own home, and partake in communion as a church family. If you’ve never been to Prayer Morn’ before set your alarms now— you’ll want to lean in! I’d personally love to see you there!

Locals have been a place where I've been able to build community easily. You know the connections are real because they exist even outside of church activities. It was the best decision ever to join one.

Prayer morning gives me a platform to start my day off right. For me, it is a special moment where I am able to connect with God and his people, with worship, prayer and communion. Being able to start my day with prayer morning has been a way for me to lean into what God has for me before going through the stresses of the day. I always find that I feel more at peace after prayer mornings and much more energized. Prayer morning has been a blessing to my life. I’m thankful to be a part of it.

Locals has been a great experience so far. It is such a great way to meet and fellowship with other Christians while gaining/sharing wisdom with them as well! If you want to find a great community of friends that spends time together to learn more about God, try joining one ASAP!

A few months into my joining Slate, I was feeling like I really wanted to start getting more involved. I had been hoping and praying I’d get to serve on a team that really needed some help. A few weeks later, CJ was looking for more help with PM muscle team, so I signed up. The team was so welcoming to me, and I am so grateful for the community they’ve helped me build. I genuinely look forward to serving each week, catching up with my teammates, and seeing the amazing things God has done on my team, and in our church in just a few months :)

I encourage everyone to join a LOCAL. I was hesitant at first but I'm so glad I did. I've met people I probably won't have spoken to on a usual Sunday. And now that I've put myself out there, I feel more confident. Nothing compares to the support you get from other believers.

God is so clearly using Slate Church and the people here to reach others, myself included! The community I have in my life because of getting involved at Slate is the BEST and I couldn't imagine life without them. Best of all, my love for Jesus and my awareness of His love for me has grown everyday since I called Slate Church home!
